Karin Brandauer’s film adaption of Karl Tschuppik’s novel »Ein Sohn aus gutem Hause« is a coming-of-age story set against the demise of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. A young Baron experiences his first erotic adventures only to find himself then in conflict with his very conservative father. The film is an intensive study of the end of an epoch and a young man’s transfer into adulthood.
